Hirsch Summary
Referring to a decision by R. Joseph Kolon in Shulchan Aruch Yore Deah 49, which states that meat that was salted without prior soaking can become permissible for consumption through subsequent soaking and salting, an inquiry arises. How should one proceed if the meat, before undergoing the 'koshering' process, was mixed with other raw meat or even cooked together? Moses Gomes de Mesquita decides that while someone who wants to be especially precise should re-soak and salt the entire raw meat, it is not strictly necessary since the prohibited portion is only a fraction of the permissible meat. Regarding cooked meat, there must be more permissible than prohibited portions for the prohibition to be 'nullified'.
