Hirsch Summary
A broker, A, collected a chest of precious stones from B's house every day to attempt their sale, returning the chest in the evening. He had done the same on the day in question and handed the chest over to B's wife in the evening. She later claimed that she had told A she had no time to take over the chest. The broker denied this. Meir ben Abraham Hacohen Alfassi imposed an oath on B that he had handed over the precious stones to B's wife. If he took the oath, especially as a court-sworn broker in Amsterdam, he would not be required to compensate. The author dedicates warm words of remembrance to Rector Abendana de Britto, who passed away on the 19th of Nisan.
