PEH399
Hirsch Summary
Someone stipulated in their will that 5000 florins from their business share, which they assumed based on the business records to be 10,000 florins, should go to charitable foundations. The heirs wanted to give only half of the business share, which amounted to just 5000 florins. Moses ben Samuel Israel ruled against them, stating that since the will did not specify that the bequest should be "half" of the business share, the full 5000 florins should be given to the charitable foundations.
