Regarding the bequest of a deceased individual: The person specified that 5000 fl. from their estate should be reserved for a female orphan from their family as part of her dowry. If no female orphan from the family married within ten years, an unrelated female orphan would receive the 5000 fl. When the person's sons pointed out that they had a widowed niece, the person expressed doubt that she would marry. However, if she did marry, he would leave her 1000 fl. As it turned out, the niece married promptly and demanded not only the 1000 fl. but also the 5000 fl. Menasse Delgado ruled in favor of the niece. See 1 and 343
