Hirsch Summary
A father stipulated in his will that each of his two sons, who inherited from him, should pay an annuity of 100 guilders to their sister annually. One son died after many years at the age of 16. He left behind no more than what their mother's dowry had amounted to. Consequently, the sons refused to make the yearly payments to their aunt. Since Samuel de Salomo a'Cathan, contrary to custom, does not provide a conclusive decision in response to this, it is only presumed that he continues to grant the aunt the annual 100 guilders.
