Hirsch Summary
Two pots contained milk-one with milk from kosher animals and the other with milk from non-kosher animals. A small amount of milk flowed from one pot into a large pot containing meat, specifically onto some pieces of meat that were protruding from the broth. After an hour, the maid reported the incident. During this time, she neither stirred the food nor covered the pot. The theoretical extension of this case raises the question of whether the decision would be different if the stirring and covering of the pot were uncertain. Jacob ben Abraham Bassan permits the mixture for consumption. However, the pieces of meat that definitely came into contact with milk should be removed and are prohibited.
