Is it permissible to use a Torah scroll for which there is a rumour and witnesses that it may contain sections that were previously in another scroll and erased?

A Torah scroll about which there was a rumour that a few sections came from an older Torah scroll from which the previous writing on the sections was totally erased. Witnesses then came and said that this Torah scroll was written by a scribe who allready did such a deed and it is almost certain that also this Torah scroll also has such sections and now the question is whether this Torah scroll is kosher or not.
