Hirsch Summary
Someone purchased various utensils from a second-hand dealer, who claimed they had previously been used by a pious individual. The utensils were said to be both dairy and meat but lacked clear identification of their specific use. Salomo Jeffurun ruled that the utensils must undergo koshering (kashering). Earthenware utensils included in the purchase could not be used for either dairy or meat. If there was suspicion that these earthenware items had been used for non-kosher foods, they should not be used as eating utensils at all.
