Hirsch Summary
Inquiry from Joseph Alvares: A widower, whose two sons did not live in his place of residence, rented two rooms on the upper floor of his house to his friend for 70 florins annually for a period of 30 years, to keep him always nearby. However, during this time, the tenant got married. The friend wanted to take back the rooms. He said that he had not considered the possibility of marriage when making the lease agreement. Samuel Mendes de Sola decides that the tenant is not entitled to sublet to a third party; however, getting married is not grounds for termination.
