Hirsch Summary
A wealthy widow, who had already sworn her ketubah, made a vow to give 2000 guilders for the dowry of a specific orphan girl. She took the girl into her house. However, when the girl declined a marriage proposal, the widow expelled her without giving her a cent. Nevertheless, she intended to provide for another orphan girl because of her vow. Abraham Raphael ben Chajim Albergue explains that the widow must outfit the first girl. This applies even if the widow did not yet possess the required money when making the vow because the ketubah had not yet been paid out.
