Hirsch Summary
A woman had taken on guarantees for her husband and thereby lost her entire fortune. After the husband's death, she demanded payment from her father-in-law because he, in turn, had guaranteed the ketubah. The father-in-law refused to pay, arguing that the dowry should have been invested profitably and not squandered through reckless ventures. Moses ben David Rodrigues Lopes decides that the father-in-law is no longer liable, as his arguments are to be agreed with.
