Two merchants jointly purchased wool in a city, and after the sale, which brought them great profit, they settled accounts and issued each other receipts. After years, a supplier came with additional claims, which one of the merchants had to approve. When he wanted the other former partner to reimburse half, the latter refused payment, citing the receipt. Moses ben David Rodrigues Lopes states that the refusal is justified.
