Hirsch Summary
Alvares mentioned in the introduction the deceased Parnassim Abraham Chiskijahu da Veiga and his brother-in-law Moses de Gavez, as well as the deceased Rector Abendana de Britto. When A married off his daughter, he took the wedding ring from the younger, underage brother of the groom, who acted with the consent of his mother, for his second, underage daughter. After A passed away, the now-grown young man wanted to bring his betrothed wife home. However, the relatives of the bride persuaded her to declare before the court that she did not want the groom. Abraham Fernandez declared this statement legally irrelevant. The girl was the properly betrothed wife of the young man, and the marriage could only be dissolved by a divorce document. He mentioned that the same inquiry was addressed in the responsa collection "Parach Matte Aron" by Rabbi Aron Perachja (Part II, Responsa 50) and was decided in the same manner.
