Hirsch Summary
A wealthy man who operated insurance policies (seguros) vowed never to insure more than 1000 fl. at once after a significant loss due to a shipwreck. When several ships sailed together, and he intended to provide insurance for 400 fl., 300 fl., and 300 fl., he hesitated due to his vow. Dr. David ben Jacob de Meza considers the vow somewhat unclear but applies it to the current case.
