Hirsch Summary
Someone specified on their deathbed that their three sons should inherit according to Torah law, adding, 'A and B each receive one-third, and C receives 25,000 guilders.' The estate was worth 150,000 guilders, leaving 25,000 guilders in dispute between A and B on one side and C on the other. While Moses Gomes de Mesquita considers various forms of division possible based on the exact wording of the stipulation, he ultimately concludes that the 25,000 guilders should be divided equally among the three brothers.
