A man, A, died without leaving any descendants. He had designated the underage daughter of his friend B as his heir, with the condition that she marry C and that C give B 2000 florins. Both C and B died after C had paid this sum. The question arose whether the payment was intended for the marriage or to repay an old debt. D, the brother of C, wanted to enter into a' levirate marriage' with the girl and inherit from A. A's relatives claimed the inheritance. Isaak b.
