Hirsch Summary
Someone bequeathed from their fortune, one hundred thousand gold dinars. It was distributed as follows: to their firstborn son and their other two sons, each received 20,000 dinars; to two nephews, A and B, each received ten thousand dinars; to their daughter, 10,000 dinars. However, there was a condition: if she married a specific nephew, C, the dowry would be 20,000 dinars. She married nephew A but agreed with him that the marriage would only be valid with a dowry of 20,000 dinars. Now, nephew C demanded the remaining 10,000 dinars, and the firstborn son requested his double share of the inheritance. Abraham b. Jacob de Meza declared the marriage valid, rejected the firstborn son's claim, and awarded nephew C the ten thousand dinars from the daughter's portion.
