Hirsch Summary
A had 20 baskets of biscuits (Biskuit) stored with B in Rotterdam. A wrote to B, stating that he (A) would make the timely sale before Passover. On the New Moon of Adar, B sold this batch at 11 a.m. to a non-Jew to protect A from losses. However, A had already sold the goods to a non-Jew in Amsterdam the day before. The letter with instructions for delivery to the authorized representative in Rotterdam had been sent by the reliable and punctual Treidel ship but arrived by chance only in the evening after the sale. Abraham da Costa Abendana ruled that B should deliver the biscuits according to A's instructions. The cost of undoing the sale would be borne by B.
