Hirsch Summary
Someone who left behind two sons and two daughters stipulated in his will that until the daughters' marriage, his estate should be managed undividedly by guardians. When the daughters were of age, they did not want to marry because they found the exceedingly rich and carefree life in their parental home enjoyable. However, the brothers applied to terminate the guardianship. They argued that having the estate under someone else's management made it impossible for them to enter into marriage. Moses Gomez de Mesquita decides that the guardianship should be terminated. The daughters should be supported by the brothers as long as they remain unmarried, and upon their marriage, each should receive a tenth of the paternal estate or even more as dowry. The amount of maintenance costs and dowry should be determined by the competent Beth Din.
