Hirsch Summary
A widow had taken possession of her deceased husband's entire estate and brought it into a second marriage. Her one adult son demanded that she present and settle the ketubah for himself and two minor brothers. The mother said she had lost the ketubah, but the value of the entire estate from her first husband would not amount to half as much as the ketubah. Moses ben David Rodrigues Lopes decides that due to the amount of the ketubah, the woman must swear or provide witnesses for it. Even a custodian of any property of the man should deliver it to the woman and not to the children; otherwise, he would be liable to the woman.
