An inquiry arose about two seemingly contradictory passages in Maimonides' 'Jad Hachasakah' concerning someone who entered a house and was suspected of stealing something from it. Jacob Abraham Bassan clarified this passage but expressed surprise that Don Vidal de Tolosa did not cite the source for Maimonides' words in his commentary, 'Magid Hamischne.'
