Hirsch Summary
A man who died abroad bequeathed his estate equally to his three sons. However, regarding a sum of 15,000 gulden, he specified that this amount should belong to the three sons of his sons, bearing his own name. These grandchildren were to receive the interest immediately, while the capital-5000 gulden each-would be given to them upon reaching the age of 13. The son of one son, who was already born at the grandfather's death and bore his name, died at the age of 4. After the heir's death, the second son had a son who inherited the grandfather's name. The third son had only daughters. Samuel b. Salomo a Catan ruled that the three sons of the heir should receive the 15,000 gulden equally.
