When B had to undertake a distant journey to settle an inheritance, their partnership was dissolved. Shortly afterward, B became impoverished. A gifted several pieces of land to B through a deed. B still possessed the deed but died before receiving the land. When B's children came to take possession of the land, A had also passed away. The children of A argued that the gift was intended solely for B personally. Meir ben Abraham Hacohen Alfassi rules that the land belongs to B's children. Refer to sources 662 and 868.
