Hirsch Summary
A gave his friend B, who asked for a loan, a batch of goods instead of cash, which he didn't have at the time. When the loan was due, B could not pay the money. He offered to borrow more money from the pawnbroker, where he had already taken a loan against the goods, as their value had significantly increased. A feared that this might violate the prohibition on interest. Abraham Fernandez explained that the entire transaction violated this prohibition; therefore, B was only obligated to return either the loan amount or the goods, whichever had the lesser value.
