Hirsch Summary
A merchant, A, bought on credit from B and always paid promptly. As they were very close friends, they often did not make notes about the individual sales. During a reconciliation, both were unsure whether A had bought a specific item from B or not. To avoid doing any injustice, they submitted the question to the "Ez-Chajim" (a rabbinic authority). David ben Raphael Meldola decides that A has nothing to pay. If his conscience is still not at ease despite the decision, he should donate the amount to Torah scholars.
