Hirsch Summary
From the estate of a deceased person, the two unmarried daughters were supposed to receive 5000 fl. each as dowry, as the already married, older daughter had received. One daughter died shortly after the father's death, unmarried. A dispute arose between the mother, who was the administrator of the estate, and the son-in-law, whether these 5000 fl. of the deceased daughter should be shared between the other two daughters as inheritance after the deceased, or whether they should remain undivided in the hands of the mother. David ben Raphael Meldola decides that 2500 fl. should be paid out to the son-in-law; the other 2500 fl. should remain under the management of the mother until the younger daughter comes of age or marries.
