Hirsch Summary
A instructed B, in the presence of witnesses, as his agent to collect a debt of 200 sela from C, who lived in another city. He notified C, who then brought the money to B. B refused to accept it, claiming he was nobody's messenger. However, after one or two days, he still collected the money from C. B went missing; it was not known whether he had been murdered or had fled. A now wanted to collect the debt again from C, as the assignment had expired due to B's initial refusal. Abraham ben David Fidanque decides that unless there is a conflicting commercial custom, C must pay again. Cf. 438.
