Title
PEH505
Hirsch Summary
After the death of his childless deceased wife, A was supposed to pay her brother B half of the dowry, namely 10,000 guilders. A wanted to set off a loan of 4000 guilders against this, so B would only receive 6000. B objected, as the loan had been granted for three years, but only one year had passed. Abraham Fernandez decides that B is technically correct; however, if it is already assumed that B will not pay after two years, then A may set off the amount.
