Hirsch Summary
Dedication page of the son-in-law of the Rector Joseph ben Moses Alvares. A woman, according to the wording of her Kethuba, brought 30,000 fl. as dowry, of which, if she died before her husband, 10,000 Gulden would go to him, but 20,000 fl. would belong to her heirs. She later changed this provision so that only 10,000 fl. would go to her heirs, and the other 10,000 fl. would go to charity. Joseph ben Moses Alvares decides that the heirs are not obligated to fulfill this bequest.
