Someone had bequeathed a piece of land to a relative in his will. He stipulated that as long as she remained unmarried, she would receive half of the income; upon her marriage, the property would be given to her outright. When the young woman married, she demanded retroactively the other half of the income. David ben Raphael Meldola dismissed her claim. [An analogous responsum, No. 268, decided contrarily. Perhaps the reason lies in the differing wording of both wills.
