A woman gave birth to a daughter 8 months and 19 days after her husband's death, who died 28 days after her birth. Of her husband's three brothers, the first was married to her sister-in-law, the second had sworn neither to marry her nor to perform Halitzah with her. The questions arose: 1. whether the woman needed Halitzah at all, 2. whether the oath was legally effective, so that the duty of marriage or Halitzah lay with the third brother.
