Hirsch Summary
An inquiry was made regarding the validity of a man's will, who had almost entirely given away his estate to strangers, leaving his sons without a portion of their deceased mother's dowry and ketubah. Moses Alvares's decision was that the will was valid if the gifts were legally transferred during the testator's lifetime; otherwise, the claims of the wife and children prevailed.
