Hirsch Summary
A married a woman with a golden ring that had a precious stone. When one of the witnesses noticed this, he said that the marriage was not legally valid. Before the ceremony was repeated, B married the woman. The rabbi then compelled B to issue a divorce certificate (Scheidebrief), and afterward, A performed the marriage again. After this decision, the rabbi passed away. A lived with the woman for 3 years and then also passed away. After A's death, Cohen C married the widow without knowing about the previous events. When he learned about them, he inquired whether his wife should be considered a divorced woman and whether he should not remain with her, especially since the marriage had not been consummated. Moses Gomes de Mesquita ruled that he must separate from her.
