Hirsch Summary
A lent 10,000 florins to their father-in-law, B. When A's business trip extended beyond the original plan, leaving his wife without funds to manage the household, B provided her with an additional 10,000 florins. A did not consider this payment to his wife as repayment of the loan since he had not instructed B to make the payment to her. Jacob ben Abraham Bassan rules that B does not need to pay again. However, it would have been more appropriate for B to give the money to his daughter in court in the presence of two witnesses. See references 517 and 932.
