Hirsch Summary
A wanted to borrow 1,000 florins from B to start a business that he believed would yield significant profits. He intended to form a partnership with B for this purpose and expected a benefit equivalent to 20% of the capital invested by B, which amounted to 1,000 gulden annually. In exchange for a compensation of 30 gulden, A even offered to guarantee the profit by providing surety, ensuring an annual payment of 970 gulden to B, regardless of whether the business performed well or poorly. Isaac Saruco considers this agreement a violation of the prohibition against interest.
