PEH452
Hirsch Summary
In a synagogue, it was customary to read from the Torah scroll of a specific family on the Day of Atonement. When a new president failed to do so and also refused to uphold the obligation to observe the custom, the case was brought to the seminar. Samuel ben Salomo a Catan declares that the custom should be maintained. In an introductory remark, he mourns the loss of his wife.
