Hirsch Summary
A merchant from Amsterdam returned from a trip to London. Upon his return, he learned that his friend (with whom he had entrusted a sack of money) had passed away. A demanded the money back from the widow, providing precise details of the amount and coin types. Despite the accuracy of A's statements, Samuel ben Salomo a'Cathan did not attach significant importance to them. Even a witness would not change the situation. The widow could only be compelled to testify under oath (Cherem) regarding whether her deceased husband had said anything about the owner of the money.
