Hirsch Summary
A asked B to buy pepper from C for cash and then resell the pepper to him at a higher price with deferred payment terms. B arranged for the pepper to be delivered directly from C to A. The question arose whether this constituted interest, which is prohibited by the Torah. Isaac Saruco affirmed that this is indeed considered prohibited interest, not only for a commodity with a clear market price, like pepper, but also for any other goods, as long as the price increase is identifiable as compensation for the deferred payment.
