A leased a pawnshop to B for a number of years. This was done with royal privilege, offering loans with and without collateral. When the number of pawnshops in the area-initially only three-had increased and, moreover, lending without collateral was prohibited by royal decree, the lessee requested a reduction in the rent. Chija Cohen de Lara rejected the lessee's request.
