A woman had committed to bringing her husband 20,000 florins. Since the goods in which the money was invested had decreased in price by 20% (due to several ships with the same goods arriving), the husband refused to accept them. Salomo Saruco supports the husband's position. He adds in response to a second question that if the goods had been destroyed by fire, the husband would have had to accept them or give the wife a divorce decree. (see 653 and 855)
