Hirsch Summary
Although a widow claimed her dowry, she did not receive the additional amount specified in the Kethuba (marriage contract) from her husband's estate. His heirs also wanted to pay her this amount to relieve themselves of the obligation to support her. Dr. David ben Jacob de Meza ruled that the heirs could not exert this type of pressure on the widow. See references 213 and 772, (and 903).
