Hirsch Summary
Inquiry from Joseph Piza: Between the ribs and opposite the diaphragm, where one begins to make an incision during an examination, there was a dime-sized hole, as if from a puncture or blow. A piece of fat closed the hole on both sides, rib and diaphragm. Moses ben Samuel Israel does not prohibit the consumption of the animal so much because of the hole, as it is far from the liver, but rather prohibits it because of a possible perforation of the intestines.
