Hirsch Summary
A sent a large shipment of goods to B in Sidon for sale. B was supposed to send other goods to A in return for the proceeds. However, B kept the proceeds for himself and, despite repeated requests, neither provided an account nor sent goods, but traded very successfully with the money in Sidon. A eventually went to Sidon himself, where he learned the facts. He demanded the entire or at least half of the benefit of all the transactions made by B with his money. Samuel Mendes de Sola decides that A is entitled to at least half of the benefit.
