Hirsch Summary
Someone pledged a sum of money for sacred purposes without specifying further. Later, three things occurred to him: 1. Building a synagogue, 2. Purchasing a Torah scroll, 3. Setting up a room for Torah study and providing support for Torah learners. He asked the seminary which purpose was the best. David ben Raphael Meldola decides that, considering one could even sell a 8synagogue or Torah scroll for the third purpose, it is the best. In the imprint, besides the widow, the orphans of Joseph Proops are mentioned.
