Hirsch Summary
A Jew met his friend in a city accompanied by a non-Jew. After a few days, he met the non-Jew in another city with his friend's carriage, horse, and goods. He became suspicious and reported it. The non-Jew confessed without torture to having killed and robbed the Jew. The murderer was sentenced to death. He repeated his confession in the face of death. Even the non-Jewish clergyman said that the murderer had confessed to him the murder and also the looting of the body. Is the widow of the murdered man allowed to remarry? Samuel Mendez de Sola permits this if the rector agrees. See query number 181 and 463 for comparison. #925 & #926 [These numbers are missing in all copies available to me.]
