PEH518
Hirsch Summary
A woman sent her husband, while he was at the market in Kfar Afis, two pieces of meat without telling the messenger whether the meat had already been koshered or not. The messenger concealed the pieces, to avoid customs duty, in carob fruits without sealing the meat and left them unattended overnight. However, the next day, he claimed he could identify the pieces again. Doubts arose about whether the meat was permissible for consumption and whether it could be assumed to have been koshered. Moses ben David Rodriguez Lopez forbids the consumption of the meat.
