Hirsch Summary
A, who needed 1,000 gulden for a due payment, asked his friend, broker B, to sell a ring with five gemstones for him. Since B was ill and unable to leave his house, he gave A the 1,000 gulden. A was very pleased with this. After a few days, when B could go out again, he sold the ring for 1,500 gulden. A claimed the surplus of 500 gulden. Samuel ben David Chiskijahu Mendes de Sola rules in favor of A.
