Among the papers of their late father, A's heirs found a promissory note from B for 1,000 fl. B did not deny the authenticity of the note but argued that the money belonged to C, for whom it had only been held by A to pay urgent trade debts. Now, C demanded repayment from B. Chija Cohen de Lara awarded the money to the heirs until C could prove the validity of B's claims.
