Buch Moses, 24, 14). Now the question arises whether, due to such an obligation, one must sell goods below market price or pledge them to non-Jews for interest, and how someone should act if they have to pay two craftsmen but only have money for one. Moses Alvares interprets the Torah's prohibition in such a way that one is only obliged not to withhold payment if they have cash. Thus, the obligation to sell goods at a loss or pledge something is lifted. In the case of having to pay two craftsmen, the money must be divided if they both come simultaneously.
