            <text>David b. Raphael Meldola, who is not part of the upper echelon, inquired about a richly adorned and allusive introduction. In this introduction, the names of the rector Isaak Chajim Abendana de Britto, Moses de Mesquita, Samuel a'Cathan, and others (some of which I couldn't decipher) appear in quotes from the Talmud. The specific case he asked about is as follows: Someone included in their will that their widow should act as the administrator of their undivided estate. After her passing, their six sons were to inherit 20,000 fl. each, with the remainder going to his brother. However, since two of the widow's sons had died childless, the remaining four brothers wanted to divide the 40,000 fl. among themselves, while the uncle claimed it for himself. Samuel ben Salomo a'Cathan ruled, based on the words of R. Isaak ben Sheshet in Response 470, that the uncle's claims to the 40,000 fl. .</text>
